Expect the unexpected.

Really, the writers did a good job in putting together a story full of twists and turns. Some disappointment in development for certain characters, but the movie largely pushed the plot forward very well. Thankfully the storyline is fresh compared to The Force Awakens, and the sequences reminded me of The Clone Wars animated series. There are some parallels with TFA and the series pays good homage to the original trilogy without feeling forced or repetitive. The gray area between light and dark is explored, bringing up more questions about what’s to unfold in the next episode.

You’ll be kept on the edge of your seat with dire action scenes but the movie is still quite long at 2hr 30m. Non-Star Wars fans will surely become impatient. I think it would have benefitted to completely take out the Canto Bight sequence. There were also a couple hiccups in editing where the camera flipped back and forth too much. The scene where Admiral Holdo first meets Poe had some obvious voiceover and editing issues (Seriously, Poe and his first meetings again?).

In the end, I really, really, really, really, REALLY enjoyed it. Still have to process all the information and perhaps watch it again, but I might very easily place The Last Jedi as the best Star Wars film to date.

My burning afterthought: where is Luke’s green lightsaber???
